Instead of featuring the usual dangerous animals like lions or sharks, the book introduces seemingly harmless creatures that can turn out to be surprisingly dangerous.
Aunque fue todo un reto, disfruté de lo lindo realizando el diseño de estos animales, ya que que tenían que resultar sumamente adorables en la ilustración de presentación pero malotes justo al pasar la página. Arriba tenéis el boceto de una de las dobles.

Although it was quite a challenge, I had a lot of fun designing these animals. They had to look incredibly cute in the opening illustration, only to reveal their badass side as soon as you turned the page. Above you can see the sketch from one of the spreads.
Para la portada trabajamos en cuatro propuestas distintas y el color negro de fondo fue elegido tras la valoración de un grupo popular seleccionado por la editorial. Al principio me sorprendió la elección, tratándose de un libro infantil, pero cuando llegó a mis manos me encantó. Es una portada muy llamativa, elegante y divertida.

For the cover, we worked on four different proposals, and the black background was chosen after getting feedback from a focus group selected by the publisher. At first, I was surprised by the choice, especially for a children’s book, but when I finally saw the finished book, I absolutely loved it. It’s a striking, elegant, and playful cover.
