Hi! I'm María García, although you’ll find me on social media as Black Ramu. I’m a children’s book illustrator, and I love designing all kinds of characters—from children to creatures and anthropomorphic animals—while telling stories that children can relate to and enjoy. My favorite genres are fantasy and mystery, and although I work primarily in digital media, I enjoy painting with gouache in my free time. Some of those paintings have been featured in exhibitions.
I’ve loved drawing for as long as I can remember, and I never stopped until I was able to turn it into my career. I’ve now been working professionally for ten years, during which I’ve had the opportunity to work in both children’s publishing and animation, illustrating picture books and chapter books, and primarily working as a character designer.
My clients include Penguin Random House, Nickelodeon, SM, Bloomsbury Publishing, Sourcebooks, RBA, and National Geographic.

¡Hola! Mi nombre es María García, aunque en redes sociales me encontrarás como Black Ramu. Soy ilustradora infantil y adoro diseñar todo tipo de personajes, desde niños a criaturas y animales antropomorfos, a la vez que contar historias con las que los niños puedan empatizar y divertirse. Mis géneros favoritos son la fantasía y el misterio y, aunque mi trabajo es principalmente digital, en mi tiempo libre disfruto pintando ilustraciones en gouache, con las que he participado en

Siempre me gustó dibujar, nunca dejé de hacerlo, hasta que logré convertirlo en mi profesión. Actualmente llevo diez años dedicándome a lo que más me gusta, y durante estos años he podido aplicarlo en ilustración editorial, ilustrando libros infantiles, y animación, como diseñadora de personajes principalmente.
